How to apply to a university in Georgia
Six steps, and you only do the first two. Here is what each one involves, what it needs from you, and roughly how long it takes.
Step 1
Choose your program
Pick the degree you want from the programs list. Tuition, duration and the documents the university asks for are on every program page, so you are choosing with the numbers in front of you.
Step 2
Send your application
Photograph your passport and the form fills itself in. You confirm your email with a six-digit code, check the details we read, and submit. Two minutes, no fee.
Step 3
Receive your offer letter
The university reviews your file and issues an offer letter. Most come back within a few working days, and you will see it in your student portal as soon as it is signed.
Step 4
Complete your documents
Add your school certificate, transcripts, a photo and a short video introduction. You can upload them during the application or later in the portal, whichever is easier.
Step 5
Ministry recognition
Your school qualifications are submitted to the Georgian authorities for recognition. This is the step that turns an offer into a confirmed place, and we handle the paperwork.
Step 6
Pay tuition and travel
Once recognition is through, you pay tuition, collect the documents your embassy needs for the student visa, and arrange your arrival in Georgia.
What you need
Four documents are required. Two things students expect to need are not.
Valid passport
A clear photo of the details page. It should stay valid for the length of your studies, and the name on it is the name that goes on your degree.
School leaving certificate
Your high school diploma. If you have finished but not yet collected it, apply anyway and send it when it arrives.
Transcripts
Grades from your final school years, or from your current university if you are transferring credits.
Passport photograph
A recent photo on a plain background, the kind used for identity documents.
IELTS or TOEFL
Not required. A short video introduction shows the university your English instead, and you record it on your phone.

Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying through this site is free, and you pay tuition only after the university has accepted you and your documents have been recognised. There is no deposit to reserve a place.
How long does the whole process take?
An offer letter usually arrives within a few working days of a complete application. Ministry recognition and visa paperwork are the longer parts, so start about three months before the intake you want.
Do I need to speak Georgian?
No. Every program listed here is taught entirely in English. Georgian is useful for daily life in Tbilisi, and universities run beginner classes, but it is not part of admission.
Can I apply if I am under 18?
Yes. You will also need your birth certificate, a copy of a parent or guardian passport, and a signed parental consent letter. The form asks for these automatically once you enter your date of birth.
Is my degree recognised outside Georgia?
Georgian universities follow the Bologna framework, so credits and degrees are read across Europe. For regulated professions such as medicine, dentistry and law, check the licensing body in the country where you intend to practise before you enrol.
What if I am transferring from another university?
Say so on the form and upload your transcript and course descriptions. The university decides which credits carry over, which sets what year you enter.
